Our Client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team and perform the following job duties:
  • Closely monitor incoming data for quality and consistency
  • Work closely with Support/QA to reconcile client data challenges and provide continuous improvement to process and transparency.
  • Work with engineers on data acquisition, normalization and storage systems to improve scalability and quality
  • Test new data sources prior to launch in production
  • Work with data collection system and engineers to fix and provide continuous improvement on data issues
  • Collaborate with consultants and clients to identify and solve data problems
  • Take ownership of internal data mining software and data analytics tools
  • Design and build tools and processes that scale our reporting and analytics capabilities
  • Perform in-depth analysis, diagnostics and data-driven recommendations to improve product performance
  • Analyze, model and forecast business performance trends by product line to improve key performance indicators and highlight emerging trends of internal and external drivers
  • Model outcomes of what-if scenarios for our products to drive us to achieve the best business and customer objective
  • Develop specifications for new data sources, mapping new data fields to existing schemas
  • Configure new data sources
  • Identify risks, create mitigation plans and drive deliverables for production launches and articulate any operational/performance gaps needing to be addressed
  • Leverage well-defined lean and agile processes for delivering work to ensure work is delivered on time, within budget, adhering to high-quality standards, and meeting customer expectations
  • Report and measure project progress toward goals and revises project objectives; document applying change control procedures throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide recommendations for operational efficiency and process improvements subject to management review in support of change
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience leading teams
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience using Big Data applications
  • Strong technical skills related to data analysis, data management, knowledge of data reporting, publishing and visualization
  • Hands on ETL techniques
  • Experience with ETL tool like Talend is recommended
  • Ability to report exceptions out from ETL process
  • Ability to architect data extraction using ETL tools
  • Suggest and implement improvements in existing ETLs
  • Experience troubleshooting applications
  • Software: experience with ETL, BI Tools, Big Database applications and configuration, EDW
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Demand for high data quality
  • Intuitive sense for spotting and investigating problems
  • Experience with spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of IT delivery approaches, methodology, and principles
  • Explicit understanding of software engineering best practices
  • Methodology: Lean/Agile
